Mask makers are indispensable to this process. The best part is that anyone can do this from the comfort of their own home. Visit our Make Your Own Mask page for specifications, details and a how-to video. 

donation drivers

Donation Drivers are the people who take all completed masks to hospitals and healthcare facilities in the area. Each driver will be assigned a specific region based on their home address so that it is a more convenient process.

messengers

Messengers pick up all donations from people’s homes in order to bring them to the Hands On Masks center or to local mask maskers. Protocol must be followed at all times.

clothing donors

One of the most important aspects of this entire cause is the donation part. All the masks that we make are solely from donations people want to provide. It is crucial to ensure safety measures are followed when handling donations.

PROTOCOLS FOR SAFETY

CLOTHING DONORS
  •  WASH EVERY ITEM OF CLOTHING THAT YOU DONATE
  •  MAKE SURE THAT DONATED ITEMS ARE 100% COTTON OR WOVENS – NO POLYESTER!
  •  PACK ALL ITEMS IN A BAG OR BOX THAT HAS BEEN DISINFECTED
  •  IF SOMEONE IS PICKING UP, LEAVE ALL PACKAGES OUTSIDE YOUR HOUSE SO THAT THEY DO NOT MAKE CONTACT
  •  BE SURE TO SEND ALL PACKAGES TO THE ATTENTION OF “HANDS ON MASKS”
MESSENGERS
  •  WHEN PICKING UP PACKAGES, BE SURE TO HAVE GLOVES ON 
  •  TRY TO OPEN PACKAGES IN AN OPEN AREA OR OUTSIDE SO YOU CAN SPRAY THEM WITH A DISINFECTANT
  •  IF POSSIBLE, GET A SEALED PLASTIC CONTAINER WITH A LID TO PUT DONATIONS IN YOUR CAR
MASK MAKERS
  •  IF POSSIBLE, TRY AND WASH FABRIC BEFORE WORKING ON THE MASKS
  •  WASH YOUR HANDS DURING THE ENTIRE PROCESS
  •  BE SURE TO ADD CARE NOTES FOR EACH INDIVIDUAL MASK THAT IS MADE AND SENT OUT
